Fabric is redolent of personal history, of the rhythms, joys, and sorrows of everyday life; we cover our bodies and drape our homes with weaves, patterns, and textures -materials that both mask and reveal our identities and embody our hopes, insecurities, and aspirations.
The meditative process of cutting, fraying, gluing, and stitching offers a chance to relive daily histories; the joining of disparate and often incongruous fragments offers an opportunity to create new beauty and meaning out of faded experiences, old hurts, treasured recollections, and long-cherished hopes.
